Solar EPC Solutions

Our Industrial pillar of the business, Rentech Renewable Technologies, was established to deliver engineered, end-to-end EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) solutions for industrial and infrastructure-scale energy projects across Africa.

Rentech’s EPC solution is turn-key and includes the design, integration, and delivery of complete energy systems that perform reliably under demanding operational conditions. Projects are approached with a clear understanding of load requirements, site constraints, operational risk, and long-term performance objectives.

With a track record spanning more than two decades, Rentech Renewable Technologies has developed deep technical expertise in the engineering, specification, and implementation of complex energy systems. This experience spans grid-tied, hybrid, and off-grid environments, supporting clients where power continuity, resilience, and scalability are critical.

Rentech’s EPC projects are delivered through a structured lifecycle that includes detailed engineering, procurement of fit-for-purpose technologies, construction and installation, system integration, testing, commissioning, and handover. This approach ensures accountability across the full project lifecycle and reduces risk associated with fragmented supply and installation models.

Solutions are engineered to align with applicable standards, environmental conditions, and operational demands, ensuring systems are correctly specified and capable of supporting continuous operation over the long term.

Interesting Facts

AutoX industrial batteries find their way into a wide range of applications from small Uninterrupted Power Supplies (UPS) to high-end storage systems.

UPS backup power applications are used widely within hospitals, banks, etc. They are almost always connected to Eskom’s power grid and remain fully charged until there is a power failure. During a power failure, the UPS backup power application will kick in, discharging until Eskom power is restored or its power has run out.

It is advisable to avoid batteries discharging 100%. Thus, it is important to choose the right battery for the right application and to ensure that the design of the complete system is done correctly with applicable engineering principles and standards.

Battery Charging

Various factors need to be considered when choosing the applicable charging system for industrial batteries. Factors such as application, type of battery, environmental conditions etc. need to be considered. Each case will need to be investigated to ensure proper charging.
